Deshler felt the potential was there all the time. The defense was the “best all year.’’ The offense was successful when it counted, if inconsistent. “We made a lot of mistakes,” Deshler said. “We could have been ’ beaten.”” He would have been happy for 14 points; he never expected three touch- downs. ’ If the team can improve its offense, if they can keep up the defense, if they can keep playing as a team, Coach Deshler thinks the Donegal Indians ‘‘have a shot at the championship.’ Dr. Predicto foresees some victories for DHS Dr. Predicto, disgruntled by the unsympathetic treat- ment he suffered at the hands of our sports editor, has insisted on telling his own story directly to our readers. Our editor takes no responsibility for the follow- ing article, which comes straight, as it were, from the horse’s mouth. Readers are forewarned that our sports editor considers Predicto a mad mathematical genius, whose opinions, like his oversized brain, are brilli- ant, but cold-blooded and downright pessimistic! —Editor’s Note by Dr. Predicto NOTES: Dr. Predicto apologizes to the Indian fans for his lack of faith in last week's game. I even went against my own calculations, which indica- ted an Indian victory. Dr. Predicto maintains his one- game edge in the battle of predicting aces. Jim Hersh moves into second place, while Jon Ferguson falls into a third place tie with Randy Montgomery. Highlights of Dr. P.’s season thus far: Wilson on top in Section One and Garden Spot's amazing success in Section Three. Keep your hopes high Donegal fans, the worst is over. After this week's game the Indians will enjoy a three game winning streak. Unfortunately things will end on a sour note for the Green and White as they meet Annville-Cleona on the Little Dutchmen’s home field. This will leave Done- gal with an overall record of S wins and 6 losses and a Scction Three record of 4 wins and 3 losses, good for fourth place in the section. OBSERVATIONS: After the debacle in Manheim, Donegal has played with much more pride and spirit. The loss to Solanco, which could have easily gone the other way, and Donegal’'s good defen- sive job in the Garden Spot game have sparked a herctofore missing tenacity in the overzil team play. The game against Lampeter- Strasburg was not perfect but great strides have been taken to right the wavering Green and White Express. | belicve the Indians will represent themselves ad- mirably against the awe- some Raider attack of ELCO.
