Constance Lombard Connie Lombard and Dr. and Mrs. Robert Marion Lombard, Columbia RD1, have the honor of announcing the engagement of their daughter, Constance Claire, to Barry Eugene Waltz, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Waltz, Mount Joy. Miss Lombard is a graduate of Elizabethtown College and the Widener College School of Nursing, Mrs. Mark D. Burd Barry Waltz are engaged Chester, PA. She is presently employed at the Hyperbaric Oxygenation Medical Center, Columbia, PA. Mr. Waltz spent a six-year tour of duty with the Air Force following his graduation from Donegal High School, and is presently employed by the Armstrong Cork Company. Mrs. William Armold Barbara Detwiler weds William Armold Miss Barbara Jo Detwiler and Mr. Paul William Armold were united in marriage at Zion Lutheran Church, Marietta, on Satur- day, June 23rd, at 2:00 PM. The Rev. William Robert officiated at the double ring ceremony. ; The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George W. Detwiler of 267 Rivermoor Drive, Marietta. The groom is the son of the late Woodrow and Mary Jane Armold. Cathy Detwiler was the maid of honor and Cheryl Detwiler was the brides- maid. The best man was Barry Eppley. Ushers were Steve Ruby and Bill Bowers. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of polyester organza. The open neckline was edged in floral Venise lace, which also covered the bodice, shoulders, and bishop sleeves. The skirt was trimmed with rows of dainty Venise lace which also bordered the hem line and the full chapel train. Her illusion veil was attached to a Juliet cap. She carried a bouquet of baby’s breath and blue, white and yellow daisies. Joyce Moyer was the organist. The reception was held at the Pioneer Fire Hall in Marietta. Following a wed- ding trip to the Penn Hills Resort in the Poconos, the couple will live at 424 E. Market Street, Marietta. The bride is a 1977 graduate of Donegal High School. She is employed by the Sylvania Shoe Company, Marietta. The groom grad- uated from Donegal High School in 1970. He is employed by the Armstrong Cork Company at the Marietta carpet plant. Maureen Jones marries Mark D. Burd The marriage of Miss Maureen Jones to Mr. Mark D. Burd took place on Saturday, June 23rd, at 2:00 PM in the Nevin Chapel, Franklin and Marshall College, Lancaster. The Rev. Russell G. Martin officiated. Miss Jones is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Jones of RD1 Mount Joy. Mr. Burd is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William S. Burd of Trenton, New Miss Trudy Keller was the maid of honor. Brides- maid was Kathleen Jones, sister of the bride. William S. Burd, Jr., brother of the groom, was the best man. Alfred G. Soulier was the usher. Given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore a full length gown with a taffeta skirt and a chiffon overshirt. The bodice had bishop sleeves and match- ing lace on the bodice, sleeves and overskirt. Her chapel length train was attached to a Juliet cap. She carried a colonial bouquet of red sweetheart roses, white carnations, and baby's breath. Miss Sharon Zimmerman was the organist and soloist. The reception was held at Franklin and Marshall College. Following a wed- ding trip to the New Jersey shore, the couple will reside in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Miss Jones graduated from Donegal High School in 1975, and from Franklin and Marshall College in 1979. She hopes to find work as a laboratory technician or research assistant. Mr. Burd graduated from Hamilton High School, West, in the class of 1975, and from Franklin and Marshall College in 1979. He plans to attend Rutgers Medical School next fall.
