In addition to a walking tour of Marietta’s Historic District and formal dedication ceremonies for a special plaque, with speeches by illustrious people, visitors were able to enjoy Ed Billett’s hollow- The people at the Railroad House put a lot of work into decorating their hotel for Marietta Day, as you can see in the photo above. Winners in the first, “Run Through History”, sponsored by the Marietta Restoration Associates, Sat- urday, are as follows:Mens Open, first place went to Gregory Caller, East Pe- tersburg, who led all other entries with a 25:24 time for the five mile event. Second place was captured by Charles Leader, in 26:21; third position was awarded to Wayne Deegan. he men’s Youth ol of 18 years and younger Joe Gillespie took first place in 29:22. Second was Dave Henry in 29:36 and Brian Mountain took third with 30:17. In the men over 40 group, Kurt Seitz headed the list in 31:54 and second was Thomas Fridley and Paul Freisher, both with time of 32 minutes. Resh, vice-commander of the 512th Military Airlift Wing (Associate) at Dover Air Force Base, Delaware, will be the speaker for the annual Memorial Day activ- ities to be held in Marietta, Monday, May 28th. Sponsored by William Brenner Post #466 and the Zink-Pennwell Post VFW, the parade will form at the Riverview Elementary American Legion Memorial Day plans The members of Post 185 American Legion and its auxiliary and Post S752 V.F.W. and its auxilliary will attend Memorial ser- vices at St. Marks United Methodist Church Sunday May 27th, 1979. Fran Welling won the Female Open at 36:41; Nancy Reider took second with 40:37; and Beth Fry came in last at 60:25. Mayor J.
