Xenophiles Last week the DHS languages department held their annual Zenophile Ban- quet [from the Greek, ‘‘love of strangers’’]. Many Xeno- philiac students attended, as well as the language faculty and Mr. Hallgren. Shown in the upper photo are the winners of the costume contest. From the left they are Chris Hoffer and Deb Torres [Latin], Tish Barnitz and James Landis [Spanish], Patty Meszaros and Jeff Duke [German]. Chris is dressed as a ‘“‘Roman’’ priest—Roman Catholic, apparently. Jeff’s mustaches, which are fake, won him one of the six free lunches given these people. These students in the lower photo were named to the Hispanic Honor Society: Karen Barnhart, Lu Ann Brenneman, Susan Gebhart, Tracee Gotwalt, Phil Landis, and Tim Milovich. ‘The banquet was held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Mount Joy. Do you have a spare room in your house? A college- age Christian girl would like to rent 1 room for the summer. No cooking facili- ties necessary. Please call 426-1212. ’ Anne Spangler.
