Donald Whitesel spear- headed the meeting as the 1979 budget and various other programs and events were discussed. Four per- sons were nominated and accepted by existing board members who are: Mrs. LaVon Harnish, Anne Milanof, Mrs. Barbara Titus, Rev. Mount Joy Library Center holds first meeting programs discussed and now offered by the library is the opening of its doors on Saturdays beginning February 3rd. The artist for this particular month is Mr. Jack Tomlinson. Jack, age 25, has been drawing and painting in a variety of media since his high school days. As a co-owner of the Crome Shop in Salunga, Jack spends many evenings at the drawing table with brush and paints. Having privately studied with Dor- othy Hollinger and Tom Hermansader, he is now planning a one-man show at the Farmer's First Bank at Park City during the month of March. However, at the library this month, Jack will display many drawings and watercolors executed in a beautiful style. For the most part the paintings are derived from Lancaster County and painted in realistic tech- nique. Mount Joy Fire Police hold meeting The Fire Police of the Friendship Fire Company #1 of Mount Joy held their meeting with 11 men attending. The officers for 1979 are: Christ Charles, Captain; Robert Schneider, First Lieutenant; Robert Hoff- master, Second Lieutenant; Richard Hoover, Sergeant; and James Gingrich, Secre- tary-treasurer. The men covered 66 calls in 1978. They worked for a total of 187 hours and 1S minutes at fires and accidents and 457 hours, 40 minutes at special duty calls for the year. The rest of the men on the force .are Robert Williams, John Thomas, Warren Rutt, Earl Gelt- macher, John Schroll, Asher Schroll, Elwood Young, James Schneider, Rufus Bleecher and David Stoneseifer.
