As a three-year-old, she was blinded by a bomb during the North Korean invasion of South Korea in 1950. Later, her father threw Kim and her younger sister into a river and her sister drowned, but Kim was rescued. When she was 10 Kim was adopted by an Ameri- can family, Mr. and Mrs. George Wickes of Dayton, Indiana. She holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in music from Indiana University. She was awarded a Fulbright scholarship to study at the Vienna Institute of Music. Following completion of her studies, Kim began a program of public appear- ances at the International Congress on World Evan- gelization at Lausanne, Switzerland, before return- ing to her home country. Since then Kim has sung at numerous public events and has appeared on tele- vision and radio. In addition, she has made recordings and has written a book about her life. Her story is soon to be filmed by World Wide Pictures. The public is invited to the concert. There is no admission charge, but an offering will be taken for Kim’s ministries among the blind, disabled veterans, and orphans.
