SUSQUEHANNA TIMES — Page 11 Grows tomatoes on balcony Mrs. Lottie Kuzemka, who recently moved to this area from Scranton, proves that it is possible to grow tomatoes on an apartment balcony. Mrs. Kuzemka shares an apartment with her daughter, Dorothy Wasko, in the Village of Rivermoor, Marietta. Mrs. Kuzemka has put hor tomatoes in flower boxes filled with geraniums and without any special ¢arc the tomatoes and gcraniums are doing beau- tifully! Mrs. Kuzemka also tends to many flowering hanging baskets which brighten the balcony. Marietta girls softball team The Marietta girls soft- ball team took 3rd place in the 2nd annual Middletown Women’s Rescue Club Softball Tournament last Sunday. The tournament was held at Oak Hills Field in Middletown. Contending were: Mount Joy, Maytown, Chapman’s Apparel, Brown Jug, Lamp Post, National Standard, Kiely’s Shamrocks, Mari- etta, Quarryville, and Lee's softball teams. Quarryville and the Brown Jug were top contenders. Attention parents St. Joseph Hospital and the Health Care Center are offering a new service for parents who are vacation- ing, or out of town for some other reason. Parents can get pre- authorization of medical services forms from the Dept. of Ambulatory Ser- vices, 291-828S. In case the child is involved in an emergency, the hospital will attempt to contact the parents.
