Lauver to John Raymond Benner took place on Saturday, July 22, at 2:00 PM at the Congre- gational Bible Church in Marietta. The Rev. John S. Hiestand officiated. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert S. Lauver, 24 West High Street, Maytown. She is a graduate of Donegal High School. She is employed by Lucas Manufacturing Co., Columbia. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. William Stoner, 620 Union Street, Colum- bia, and the late Mrs. Alveta Benner Stoner. He is a graduate of Columbia High School. He is em- ployed by Colonial Metals Co., Columbia. The bride wore a gown of organza over taffeta featuring a scoop neckline and long full sleeves. The bodice was adorned with venise lace and pearls. The gown had an empire waist- line and an A-line skirt trimmed with venise lace. It flowed into a chapel train. The bride chose a cathe- dral-length mantilla with venise lace. Tammy Baker of Colum- bia was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were: Miss Jessie Oberdorff, Eliza- bethtown; and Mrs. Shirley Waller, aunt of the bride, Columbia. Serving as the best man was Edward Benner, bro- ther of the bridegroom, Columbia. Ushers were: Donald Lauver and Robert Lauver, brothers of the bride, Maytown; and Earl Reisinger, Columbia. Bridal showers were given by the maid of honor and by the bridesmaids. The couple will live in Columbia. Philatelists discuss bourse Mount Joy Stamp Club The Mount Joy Stamp Club held their regular monthly meeting recently at the home of the president Mrs. Joseph Shaeffer. Myrtle Brown presented the secretary’s report and Richard Dilling- er the treasurer’s report. Asher Schroll was appoint- ed to be the club’s representative to the A- merican Philatelic Society. Those who ordered United Nation stamps, received them at the meeting. Stamps were discussed, the one in particular was the sheet sold at the International Stamp Exhibi- tion which was held in Toronto, Canada. This sheet will be available in the United States at phila- telic windows in post offices. It can be purchased now through dealers. The possibility of holding a stamp bourse next year was discussed and Asher Schroll will check the possibilities of holding the bourse. The time and location will be duscussed at later meetings. The next meeting sche- duled for August 2 will be a picnic for the members and will be held in Sico Park. The stamp club has some canceled stamps a- vailable to young people just starting stamp collect- ing as a hobby. If there are certain ones needed, write to the Mount Joy Stamp Club, P.O. Box 222, Mount Joy, 17552 and state your needs. Persons interested in stamp collecting as a hobby can join the club, membership being $2.00 per year.
