C, Mount Joy, died Mon- day night at Lancaster General Hospital, after an illness of two months. She was a member of the First Church of God, Elizabethtown, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Elizabethtown Chap- ter 407, and a member of the National Association of Retired Federal IEmploy- ees. She was a member and past president of the Maytown Golden Age Club. She was retired from the former Savoy Shoe Com- pany, Elizabethtown. Born in Marietta, she was the daughter of the late David and Annie Rauch Appley. She is survived by her husband, Clyde M. Miller, and by one sister, Gertrude Appley, Lancaster. MARGARET JONES Miss Margaret (Peg) T. Jones, 58, of S508 Ridge Road, Elizabethtown, died Monday at her home, after a lengthy illness. Born in Marietta, she was a daughter of Cather- ine G. Kiehl Jones, Eliza- bethtown, and the late Edward R. Jones. Until her retirement in February, she worked as a registered nurse for the Veterans Administration Hospital, Lebanon, for 26 years. She served in World War II as a Navy nurse from 1943 to 1947. She was also a nurse at the Marietta Depot and the Veterans Hospital, Butler. She was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Elizabeth- town and the National Council of Catholic Wo- men. She was also a member July 19, 1978 of the Senior League of Marietta, the Columbia Hospital Auxiliary and the Elizabethtown Historical Society. In addition to her mo- ther, with whom she resided, she is survived by four brothers: Edward R. and Donald P. Jones, Mount Joy R1; John Ken- neth Jones, Mount Joy R2; and Col. Joseph Jones, Camp Lejuene, N.C. PP&L sponsors wildlife talks Management of water- fowl resources will be the subject of a talk and slide presentation at the pequea Creek Campground at Lake Aldred Friday (July 21). Charlie Strouphar, water- fowl management assistant with the Pennsylvania Game Commission, will present the program at 8:30 PM. There is no admission charge and the program is open to the public, said Ben Moyer, seasonal na- turalist at Lake Aldred. Since the program will be held outdoors, participants should bring chairs or blankets for seating. Included in the program will be discussion of Can- ada geese, providing infor- mation on their habits; the problems they cause when they appear in large num- bers and what is being done about them in water- fown management. Strouphar also will dis- cuss the Middle Creek Wildlife Management Area north of Lancaster which was created by the Game Commission as a stopover point for migrating water- fowl.
