Mem- bers of the Assumption BVM Church of Mount Joy, who are currently without a church, shared in the breakfast. The men of the parishes cooked the meal, and the boys served it. Lucille Lombard was the featured solist, accompan- ied by Carol Bubacz. Mrs. Claire Lombard and-her son Allen presented an instrumental duet on flute and piano, Ava Maria. Father Michael offered the invocation, and Mrs. Robert Carroll, president of the Marietta Women’s Club, extended a welcome to all present. Joan Troth, president of the Mount Joy parish Council of Catholic Women, gave a prayer of thanksgiving. Sister Julia Keagan, from St. Joseph Hospital, spoke on ‘‘The Experience of Prayer.” Strawberry festival The annual strawberry festival at St. Luke’s Epis- copal Church, Mount Joy, will be held on Saturday, June 3rd, on the lawn of the church at So. Market and Columbia Avenues from 4 to 7 PM. The menu includes po- tato salad, chicken corn soup, chicken salad sand- wiches, salads, strawberry shortcake, ice cream and stawberries, and drinks. In case of showers it will be held in the undercroft of the church. Legion service Members of Post 185 American Legion, Post S752 VFW, and their aux- iliaries will attend Memor- ial Day services at Zion Lutheran Church, Cooper Ave., Landisville, on Sun- day, May 28th. Rev. Martin L. Swartz will conduct the service. The group will meet at the church at 10:30 for the: 10:45 service. Home canning The Friendship Circle of the West Greentree Church of the Brethren invites all interested women in the community to attend a pro- gram at the church on Tuesday, June 6th, at 7:00.
