May 10, 1978 Jean Jenkins marries Donald Ellis The wedding of Miss Jean Elizabeth Jenkins to Mr. Donald L. Ellis took place on Saturday, May 6th, at the Shiloh Church of Mrs. Donald Ellis God in Christ, Harrisburg, with the Rev. Elder Carl E. Hines officiating. The bride, of 1204-A N. 15th Street, Harrisburg, is | the daughter of Mrs. Jean Jenkins Becton of 128 No. | Gay Street, Marietta, and | the | Jenkins, Sr. | graduate of Donegal High | School. She is employed as | a Public Service trainee by the Dauphin County Board | of Assistance, Harrisburg. late George M. She is a Miss Jenkins is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Griffith L. Maple of Columbia and the late Mr. and Mrs. Luther Jenkins, also formerly of Columbia. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Ellis, Sr., of 1022 Highland Street, Oberlin, Pennsylvania. He is a graduate of the Dauphin County Vo-Tech school. He is employed at the New Cumberland Army Depot. The bride wore a gown of organza over taffeta, with a cameo neckline, accented with pearls. The bodice and matching full sleeves, with a wide cuff, were of alencen lace. The A-line skirt flowed with an overlay of alencen lace. The hemline and semi -cathedral length train were edged with matching lace. The English illusion, all edged with alencen lace, flowed the length of her train. She carried roses, carnations, and baby breath. The maid of honor was Georgeanne M. Jenkins, sister of the bride. Brides- maids were: Sandra Mc- Kinney and Lynn Jenkins, sisters of the bride; Donnae and Darla Ellis, sisters of the groom; Ann Marie Jenkins, cousin of the bride; and Yvette Robin- son, Stephanie Johnson, and Flossie McLendon, friends of the bride. The best man was Oliver Ellis, cousin of the groom. Ushers were: Michael Whittaker, cousin of the groom; Stanley Washing- ton, Anthony Thomas, Gerald Simmons, and Brian Thompson; George and John Jenkins, brothers of the bride; and Lewis McKinney, brother-in-law of the bride. Travis Brown was the ringbearer. Jalena Jenkins, daughter of the bride, was the flower girl. Showers were given by her maid of honor and also by her co-workers. Miller On April 29 at the Columbia Fish and Game Club, Boy Scout Troop #63 of Mount Joy attended the O. A. Activities Day. The three Scouts, Steve Miller, Mitch Mummaw, and Jeff Way, along with their Committee Chairman Dave Miller, were inducted into the Order of the Arrow. This capped off a day in which Troop 63 were presented some other a- wards. The ‘‘Rattlesnake Patrol’ won the ‘‘Spear Throwing’’ Contest. The Troop was also presented ‘““The Best Unit’’ award. Also, honored and given recognition plaques for service to scouting were the Scoutmaster and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. James Ruhl. Plaques were pre- sented to two more adult members: Elmer Dennis and Dave Miller. Accompanying Troop 63 was Cub Scout Pack 263 Webelos of Mount Joy: Scott Kling, Brian Hess and Bobby DeHoff who received a recognition award for doing so well in the competition. Winning awards is not new to Troop 63. Last month at the Western District Recognition Dinner they were awarded ‘‘The Pedro Award’’, ‘‘National Camping Award’’ and Steve Miller, Mitch Mummaw, Jeff Way ‘““Honor Troop Award’’ for outstanding scouting. Troop 63 is sponsored by Glossbrenner United Meth- odist Church of Mount Joy and invites any interested boys between 11 and 17 years of age to come to a meeting and find out what scouting is all about.
