The Senior Choir, under the direction of Mrs. Terry Millard, will perform various selections depicting the Christmas story. Soloists are Dean Brian, Anita Forry, Lynn Millard, Lynne Evinger, and Terry Millard. The public is invited to attend both services at 4:00 and 7:30 PM. Cantata at Marietta Assembly of God A new Christmas cantata entitled ‘‘Everyone Prais- ing the Lord” will be pre- sented on December 21st by the adult choir of the Marietta Assembly of God Church. This evening of music will begin at 7:30 PM and will feature a number of solos with full orchestral accompaniment. Jerry Nelson, the composer, writes, ‘‘I tried to translate something of the depth and intensity of the life of Christ into musical form. The cantata was the result. I gave it that title because it takes us all the way from the cradle to an anticipa- tion of the day when every knee shall bow.”’ Candlelight service at Mount Joy Mennonite The Mount Joy Men- nonite Church will present its annual Christmas Can- dlelight service on two consecutive evenings: Dec. 17th and 18th at 7:30. The affair will feature Night of Miracles by John Peterson with a cast of 25 people, the Junior Choir, and the Motet. This cantata pageant is under the direction of Mrs. Joanne Zimmerman with Greg Zimmerman as pianist. The Candlelight Service and Christmas Meditations will be conducted by pastor Shelly R. Shellenberger who, along with the con- gregation, invites the people of our community to share in these services. DHS concert choir Christmas program by Patty Shenk The Donegal High School Concert Choir will present their annual Christmas Concert on Saturday, De- cember 17 at 8:00 PM. * They will perform a can- tata titled ‘‘The Song of Christmas’’ by Roy Ring- wald. This work comprises original music, selected excerpts from twenty songs, carols, and abridged verses from the Holy Scip- ture. It was performed for the first time by Fred Waring and the Pennsyl- vanians on NBC December 25th, 1945, and has been popular as a portion of many choral Christmas concerts ever since. The choir will also perform a secular portion of Christmas music. Among these numbers will be two recently written numbers — Happy Holidays With Jingle Bells which was arranged by Howard Worthes and So My Sheep May Graze written by Rod McKuen and arranged by Milt Rogers. The Donegal High School Rhythm Singers are back again this year. Some of their numbers are: ‘“What Month was Jesus Born In?’’ ““Let’s Go Buy Our Christmas Tree,” ‘“‘All 1 Want for Christmas is my Two Front Teeth,”” ‘‘Rockin Round the Christmas Tree.” Members of the Rhythm Singers are: Jolene Linde- muth, Joi Shearer, Allison Hawthorne, Becky Zimmer- man, Lisa Mummaw, Deb Torres, Jim Johnson, Wayne Mylin, Jim Landis, Bruce Wagner, Patrick Kenny, and Mark Wagner. Freshmen Chorus will sing a section of the con- cert. Three numbers in- cluded in their portion are ‘““Lying in a Manger’’ by John Carter, ‘‘Jesus was His Name’’ by Mark John- son and “‘Silent Night’’ by Joyce Eilers. Accompanists for the various groups are: Jolene Lindemuth, Mark Wagner, Deb Torres, Joyce Darkey, and Mrs. Lau.
