December 14, 1977 School board meeting The Donegal School Board spent most of last Thursday’s meeting listen- ing to Joe Siberski’s hearing for reinstatement. (See accompanying article.) In other business, the board accepted the Certifi- cates of Election and administered the oath of office to newly elected board members. They were Jere Duke, Edgar Jones, and Jeff Hartzler. Dale Arnold was elected presi- dent, and Thomas Meckley was elected vice president, of the School Board. Donald Kugle was elect- ed board representative to Lancaster County Vo-Tech Joint Committee, and Dale Arnold as alternate. Thomas Meckley was elected board representa- tive to the Lancaster County Tax Collection Bureau, and Jere Duke was named the alternate. PSBA (Pennsylvania School Board Association) representatives will be Dr. Robert Eshleman and John Weidman. The PSBA is conducting a survey of school boards on the question of state football playoffs. The board seemed cool to the idea. They will send their vote to the PSBA later. The Donegal Band Club asked for permission to prepare and advertise spec- ifications for purchasing band front uniforms from the ’77-’78 budget for about $7000. Thirty-five uniforms and thirty-five busby hats for the color guard, and seventeen uni- forms for the majorettes would be included in the purchase. The board found the idea acceptable, but they would not guarantee that the MmneY. would be avail- lable. Citing the cost of repairs to the school build- ings this year, they didn’t give the go-ahead for fear of a misunderstanding.
