Heisey, 71, of 165 Manheim St., Mount Joy, died Saturday at the the Duke Convalescent Home on No. Duke St. in Lancaster, following a long illness. He was the hus- band of Anna Mae Buller Heisey. Heisey was born in Milton Grove, a son of the late Clayton B. and Fannie Zerphey Heisey. He had lived in Mount Joy for the last 52 years. Before his retirement in 1971, he was a machine operator for the Bearings Co. of America, Lancaster, where he worked for 28 years. He had also worked for the Grey Iron Casting Co., Mount Joy. Heisey was a member of St. Mark’s United Metho- dist Church, Mount Joy, and an honorary member of Friendship Fire Co. No. 1. In addition to his wife, he is survived by four sons and a daughter. The sons are Raymond E., at home; Charles C., Maytown; Harold E., Shippensburg, and George M., Salunga. The daughter is Dorothy H. wife of William 8S. McLaughlin, Lititz RD2. Also surviving are two brothers and a sister: Norman Z., E-town RD2; Clayton E., Willow Street, and Elsie, wife of Allen F. Alleman, Mount Joy. There are 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Transportation course offered The University Center at Harrisburg is offering a course, ‘Transportation Economics,”’ beginning Mon., Sept. 12. The signi- ficance of this course is found in the complete dependence of the modern economic system upon ad- equate transport facilities. This course also will pro- vide an excellent prepara- tion for ‘‘Logistics of Dis- tribution Management,”’ which will be offered later in the series. Classes will be held every Monday for 16 weeks from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The fee is $40. Enrollments will be ac- cepted at Stillwater Hall, 2980 North Second St., Harrisburg, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wed., and Thurs., Sept. 7 & 8. Karis, Hazleton, PA, passed away on August 19th at Saint Joseph Hospital, Hazleton. Mrs. Karis is survived by a daughter, Shirley, wife of Gary D. Dellen, #1 West High St., Maytown. Shirley is the daughter-in-law of Mrs. William B. Coller, Marietta RDI. JANET M. RICE Janet M. Rice, the seven -month-old daughter of Jeffrey and Margie Raffensberger Rice, Mari- etta RD 1, died last week at Lancaster General Hos- pital. Janet had been ill since her birth. Besides her parents, she is survived by a step -brother, Warren J. Raffensberger, at home; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. James Rice; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Warren Raffensberger, all of Mari- etta RD 1; a paternal great -grandmother, Mrs. Beatrice Rice, and a pat- ernal great-grandfather, William Waner, both of Marietta; and a maternal great-grandmother, Mrs. Helen Kennedy of Colum- bia.
