Anrind 653-5335 “eg Mee . ne Northeast Region of the Barbara Landis Barb Landis wins scholarship Barbara Ann Landis has been selected to receive a- $1,000 National Honor Society Scholarship from the National Association of Secondary School Princi- pals. Barbara is the daugh- ter of Dr. and Mrs. William B. Landis, R.D. #1, Colum- bia, PA. She was one of eleven PA students to be so honored, and one of 225 nationally. The scholarship may be used to pursue a course of. study leading to a degree in any accredited univer- sity, college, or junior college in the United June 15, 1977 Trinity Lutheran Bible school Trinity Lutheran Church, Mount Joy will hold Daily Vacation Bible School from June 20 - 24 from 9 to 11:30 a.m. for children from 3 years old through 8th grade. The theme this year will be Concordia Publishing House's ‘‘Pray, Praise and Give Thanks’. The nursery for 3 year olds will be taught by Anita Brenner and Karen Gaudlip, assisted by Sue Klepper and Cindy Anspach. The 4 year olds will be taught by Marilyn Etsell, Becky Wivell and Patricia Weatherbee and Trudy Kelly. The kindergarten will be taught by Evelyn Duke and Beverly Swanson assisted by Jacquee Jo Zeller, Susan Miller and Laurie Zerphey. The primary department will be under the direction of Carol Miller and Janice Brown, assisted by Jon Horst and Roxanne Shank. The 3 and 4th graders will be taught by Judy Weller, Helen Wivell and Tammy Duke. The preteen department will be taught by Barbara Klepper, LaVonne Harnish and Joyce Brown. The junior high depart- ment will be taught by Donald Drenner, Jr. and Dean Brenner. Carol Miller will be the piano player and Tammy Duke will be the song leader. June Smith and Thelma Bowman are in charge of refreshments. The Bible School curricu- lum includes film strip lessons, songs, art work, games and refreshments. We extend a special invita- tion to the boys and girls of the community to attend, especially those who are involved in the baseball program and cannot attend their own bible school to come to our morning bible school. DID YOU HEAR... Mrs. Ethel M. Broske was honored for her ser- vices to the Mount Joy Church of God last Sunday. She has been an organist there for SO years. She received a corsage, a bracelet, and a fraktur. The ceremony included a duet, a choral sing, and remarks by former pastors. A poem, composed for the occasion by Betty Charles, was read by Mrs. Lucina Snyder. there was also a recep- tion, complete with a four- tier cake topped by a model grand piano.
