Zuch, a retir- ed Marietta justice of the peace and notary public, died Monday at Fairview Manor Convalescent Home, Columbia, after an illness of two months. He was 87. He lived at 200 E. Market St., Marietta, and was the husband of Lucy T. Thompson Zuch. He operated a general insurance agency in Mar- ietta and was secretary- of Marietta Cemetery Association for 16 years. Zuch was a lifelong member of Zion Evangel- ical Lutheran Church, Marietta. Born in Marietta, he was a lifelong resident of the borough and was the son of the late George F. and Annie Koehler Zuch. In addition to his wi- dow, he is survived by three sons: Frank T., San Fernando, Calif.; Robert T., Easton, and Charles, Clearwater, Fla.: 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four brothers and a sister: Lester and Arthur Zuch, Marietta; Paul Zuch, Mil- brae, Calif.; Karl Zuch, Winter Haven, Fla. and Mrs. Effie Kise, Marietta. MRS. R.B. NIES SR. Mrs. Pauline M. Nies, 80, of Cedarbrook, Lehigh County, formerly of Tre- mont Apartments, Allen- town, died Friday at Cedarbrook. She was the wife of Raphael B. Nies Sr., Cedarbrook. She was a member of First Presby- terian Church, Allentown. Born in Lancaster, she was a daughter of the late Lewis C. and Kathryn K. Koch Reisner and former- ly a Marietta resident. Besides her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Kathryn N., wife of Dr. Maurice D. Geiger, Allentown; a son, Raphael B. Nies, Jr., Ridgewood, N.J., and six grandchildren. MRS. HENRY HAINES Anna Peters Kready Haines, 81, of 11 Center Square, Maytown, died at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Audobon Villa, Lititz, where she had been a patient for the past several months. She was the widow of Henry Longenecker Haines, who died in Sep- tember, 1976. Born in Millersville, she was the daughter of the late Henry Peters Kready and Elizabeth Stehman Kready. She was a 1916 graduate of Millersville State Normal School. She was employed by the Bur- eau of Employment Secur- ity in both Harrisburg and Lancaster for a total of 25 years. Prior to that time, she was a teacher in Lititz and Maytown High Schools. She was a member of the Maytown United Church of Christ. She was a former elder and trustee of the church, and a member of the Women’s Guild, and treasurer of the American Legion Auxiliary in May- town, and a member of Maytown Civic Association. Surviving are a son, John Edward Haines, Newtown Square; a daughter, Mir- iam E., wife of the Rev. Vernon H. Baum, York; a sister, Martha E. Kready, Millersville; seven grand- children; and one great- grandchild. MRS. CRYRUS F. DERR Mrs. Minnie I. Derr, 67, of 438 E. Market St., Marietta, died unexpected- ly at her home Saturday morning. She was the wife of Cyrus R. Derr. She was born in Rapho Township, a daughter of the late John and Daisy Ober. She at- tended God’s Missionary Church in Salunga. In addition to her hus- band she is survived by eight children, Louella, wife of Wallace Anthony Elizabethtown; Jay Derr of Colorado; Miss Milred Derr, Marietta; Betty, wife of Sidney Feldser, Roaring Branch, Pa.; John Derr of Lancaster; Miss Goldie Derr of Manheim R3; Edith, wife of Eugene Dunk, Mount Joy; Miss Marlene Derr, Marietta; and 16 grandchildren. WILLIAM OSTERMAYER William P. Ostermayer, 68, of Tucson, Az., former- ly of 4480 Chinchilla Ave., Mount Joy R3, died Friday after a lengthy illness. He was born in Lancast- er, a son of the late William P. and Ellie Fisher Ostermayer, Sr. He was the husband of Evelyn Stetter Ostermayer. He re- tired in 1971 as a labora- tory technician from Arm- strong Cork Co. after 33 years of service. He at- tended the Mount Joy Church of God and was a member of the Toastmaster Club. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, William P., ., of Lingles- town, Pa.; Jery, of Mount Joy; two daughter, Flor- ence, wife of Thomas Fry, Ephrata; seven grandchil- dren; one great-grand- daughter; and a sister, Mrs. Ethel O.
