Born March 23, 1897 in Marietta, Carver is the son of the late Wilson and Frances Marley Carver. The Mariettian is retired from Olmstead Army De- pot. Prior to that he was a silk weaver. A veteran of World War I, Mr. Carver saw action with the Navy in the Atlantic Theater. He is a member of the United First Methodist Church, a Char- ter member of the Ameri- can Legion Post #466, the Ashara Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons, and the Senior Leaque in Marietta. Married to the former Lillian Buchanan, the coup- le has six children: The Reverend Earl Carver, of Langhorne; Leona, wife of Paul Leonard, Millersville; Alice, wife of William David; Florence, S. Caro- lina; Frances, wife of Col. Robert Lawson, London, England; Joyce, wife of Fred Loewen, New Mexico; and Sonya, wife of Joe Bates, York.
