Donegal School District plans census
The Donegal School Dis-
trict conductss a census
survey each year of all
residents living within the
school district. Each home
will be visited starting
April 1, 1977.
The census has no direct
influence on property
assessments or rate of per-
sonal taxes, but is needed

best serve the total popula-

individuals cooperate with
the census takers so the
project may be completed
with minimum cost prior to
May 1, 1977. The census
takers for the school dis-
trict are:
East Donegal Town-
ship—Benjamin Gainer;
Marietta Borough—Jay M.
Kaylor; Mount Joy Bor-
ough—Ruth Newcomer and
Donald D. Drenner; and
Mount Joy Township—Lois
Milbee.
It would be of consider-
able assistance to the
census taker if you would
have available the following
information for each person
living in your home:
Name, age, birthdate, as
well as grade and school, if
attending school.

turns 80

Marietta,
quietly observed his eight-
ieth birthday this week.
Born March 23, 1897 in
Marietta, Carver is the son
of the late Wilson and
Frances Marley Carver.
The Mariettian is retired
from Olmstead Army De-
pot. Prior to that he was a
silk weaver.
A veteran of World War
I, Mr. Carver saw action
with the Navy in the
Atlantic Theater. He is a
member of the United First
Methodist Church, a Char-
ter member of the Ameri-
can Legion Post #466, the
Ashara Lodge of Free and
Accepted Masons, and the
Senior Leaque in Marietta.
Married to the former
Lillian Buchanan, the coup-
le has six children: The
Reverend Earl Carver, of
Langhorne; Leona, wife of
Paul Leonard, Millersville;
Alice, wife of William
David; Florence, S. Caro-
lina; Frances, wife of Col.
Robert Lawson, London,
England; Joyce, wife of
Fred Loewen, New Mexico;
and Sonya, wife of Joe
Bates, York. There are
seventeen grandchildren
and seven great grandchil-
dren.
75 plus banquet

The Mount Joy Jaycees
and Joycee-ettes will spon-
sor its annual 7S Plus
Banquet on Thursday, June
9, 1977 at Hostetter’s
Banquet Hall. Any citizen
of Mount Joy who is
seventy-five year of age is
eligible to attend. Invita-
tions will be mailed in
April to those who have
attended in past years.
