Epilepsy foundation schedules meeting The Lancaster County Service Unit of the Epi- lepsy Foundation of Ameri- ca announces a meeting, open to the public, at Bethany Presbyterian Church, 25 North West End Avenue, Lancaster on December 8, at 7:30 p.m. The program includes a film, ‘‘Drugs As They Apply to Epilepsy’”’ and a discussion on the film led by Dr. Tom Stuart and Dr. Philip Eppley. Marine Jon P. Booth completes basic Marine private Jon P. Booth, son of Mrs. Hellen Booth of 14 Manheim St., Mount Joy, Pa., has com- pleted recruit training at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, S.C. During the 11-week training cycle, he learned the basics of battlefield survival. He was intro- duced to the typical daily routine that he will exper- ience during his enlistment and studied the personal and professional standards traditionally exhibited by Marines. He participated in an active physical conditioning program and gained profic- iency in a variety of military skills, including first aid, rifle marksman- ship a close order drill. Teamwork and self-disci- pline were emphasized throughout the training cycle. A 1976 graduate of Donegal High School, Mount Joy, he joined the Marine Corps in February - 1976. Self breast exam taught at Norlanco All women of childbear- ing age and beyond are invited to a film showing at Norlanco Family Health Center this Monday, De- cember 6 at 7:30 p.m. The films, loaned by the American Cancer Society, are ‘‘Breast Self-Examina- tion’’ and ‘‘For a Wonder- ful Life”. ‘‘Breast Self-Examina- tion’’ describes this easily- learned technique, first as done by a physician, then by the women performers. Following the film, a demonstration dummy will be available so that each person attending can try the technique under super- vision. ’ “For A Wonderful Life’ features a discussion of why the Pap examination is necessary, shows how it is done, and what the labora- tory results will indicate. Both films are short, allowing time for an in- formal discussion period.
