SUSQUEHANNA TIMES — Page 17 Santa Claus coming to E-town The Jolly Old Gentlemen makes his appearance once again this year in Eliza- bethtown, this time in a strange new-fashioned ve- hicle called the Oddyssey, which looks like a blown-up toy with four fat tires. Santa Claus will ride in a parade, according to Rich- ard A. Hartman, general Manager of the Gladell Shops and Chairman of the Merchants’ Committee of the Elizabthtown Chamber of Commerce, proceded by various pieces of bright red fire trucks and police cars, serenaded by a group of musicians from Elizabeth: town Area High School, and escorted by a very special young lady, Lynne Grote of Bowmansville, who happens to be Miss Lancaster County. After the parade, Santa will be greeted by officials from the Borough govern- ment on the square, where he will take up residence in his castle until December 23rd. Naturally, he will be looking forward to meeting his favorite people and will have .a - treat for any children who come to visit him. Santa’s castle hours November 26 will be from 1:30 p.m. 10-5 p.m., and from 6 to 9 p.m. On Satur- day, November 27, hours will be from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Santa will also be in his castle many evenings and Saturday afternoons in December for those unable to see him this weekend. A new feature this year will be the presence of a professional photographer, Mr. Maurice Upton, of Elizabthtown, who will take a portrait of any child with Santa for a nominal fee at the parent’s request. It is not yet certain, but it is rumored that Frosty the Snowman will also perform in Santa’s parade. The young and young-at- heart should certainly have a good time in Elizabeth- town this weekend. Cerebral Palsy campaign begins United Cerebral Palsy of Lancaster County has be- gun a campaign to raise $40,000 with which to provide therapeutic services to 26S county resi- dents of all ages during 1977. Marvin E. Miller, Representative 97th House District of PA, has been named Chairman of this campaign. Mr. Miller said the ser- vices ‘‘can aid the person with cerebral palsy to attain his or her fullest potential.”” He said that U.C.P., headquartered at 226 W. Chestnut St., Lan- caster, is ‘‘completely de- pendent upon voluntary contributions since it does not receive any aid from the United Way.” He said, ‘‘Cerebral Palsy is a condition — not a disease. It is usually caused by damage to the brain during or after birth. This, in turn, creates a nerve and muscle dysfunc- tion. Although there is no cure, the condition is non- progressive. Consequently, the services provided are invaluable to victims who want to reach their full potential in spite of the handicap.” : Contributions may be sent to U.C.P.... 226 W Chestnut St., Lancaster. PA 17603. They are tax deductible and will be acknowledged. i Car insurance: Paying too much fortoo little? Our complete coverage may cost less than you're now paying.
