The luncheon was held by U.S. Air Force Recruiting Detachment 108 to honor the guidance counselors for their help in getting information on the Air Force to interested applicants. Captain Douglas J. McLean presented certificates of appreciation to Mr. Donald A. Rineer counselor at Mount Joy Vo-Tech. Gingrich, Qua- ity Control Supervisor, at Wyeth, Marietta, was a- warded the Silver Beaver, the highest honor the Lancaster-Lebanon Council of the Boy Scouts of America can bestow. This presentation for distingui- shed service to youth was recently made at the Coun- cil’s recognition dinner for adult leaders. Since 1960 Walter has been in scouting, and for the past 10 years has served as Scoutmaster of Troop #85, sponsored by the Church of the Brethren in Elizabethtown. He was the recipient of the ‘‘Order of Merit”’ award in 1970. Walter has earned the following train- ing awards: Leadership Training Award, Scouter’s Ea “SAF aAYA Key, and Wood Badge.
