Some of the tasks pro- vided by the Home Chore Program will include: re- placing fuses, electric plugs, frayed cords, door locks, window catches; re- placing faucet washers or faucets and doing other minor plumbing repairs; repairing broken stairs and floors, patching walls and ceilings; installing hand Millersville rails and safety rails for tubs and toilets; installing screens, repairing furni- ture, installing shades and curtain rods, shampooing and tacking down rugs, moving furniture, washing windows and walls, scrub- bing floors, cleaning attics and basements to remove fire and health hazards, minor repairs to the exter- ior, minor painting, non- expert insect rodent cont- rol, bringing in coal, drift- ing fires and removing ashes, moving trash to collection points, cutting College gives antiques course An introductory course on locating and acquiring antiques is being offered at Millersville State College November 1-December 16. The course, which will meet Wednesdays, 7-8:30 p.m., is being offered as a non-credit program through the college's Center of Continuing Education. The course fee is $20. The course will be taught by Henry Kauffman, a retired professor of indust- rial arts at MSC who is well-known as a master craftsman and as the au- thor of a number of books on antiques and early Americana. The course, “Antiques Are Where You Find Them,’ will be an introduction to identifying the nature and quality of antiques and will provide tips on how to locate and acquire antiques at a rea- sonable cost. The antique course is among nine non-credit courses being offered dur- ing the second cycle of continuing education cour- ses. Other topics include “Psychic Awareness II,” ““Rockhounding for Begin- ners,” “Colonial Lancaster County,’’ Understanding India and China,”” ‘“‘Col- lecting Classic Films,’ “*Gourmet French Cook- ing,”” ‘‘Ballroom Dancing II", and ‘‘Beginning Bridge.” Information is available and interested persons may register by contacting the Center for Continuing Edu- cation, Millersville, PA Mt.
