Page 8 - SUSQUEHANNA TIMES Obituaries LILLY WISEMAN Mrs. Lilly V. Wiseman, 93, formerly of 126 West Front Street, Marietta, died Wednesday at 6:30 p.m., at Baily’s Nursing Home, Elizabethtown. She was a guest at the home for seven years. She was the widow of Albert S. Wiseman, who died in 1956. Born in Downsville, MD she was a daughter of the late James and Martha Flenner Davis. She was raised in the United Methodist faith. Surviving are seven children: Russell, Marietta, Everett S., Mount Joy RI, June, wife of Luther Thomas. Marietta, Warren, New Kingston, Evelyn, wife of Maurice Emen- heiser, Lancaster Rl, Aubrey, Mount Joy, Helen, wife of Clarence Keller, Blackwood, N.J.; 14 grand- children and 27 great- grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Grace Turner, and a brother, Frank Davis, both of Hagerstown, MD. JOHN K. WOLGEMUTH John K. Wolgemuth, 76, of Mount Joy R2, died Tuesday at 7:40 p.m., at i.ancaster General Hospital after an illness of one year. He and his wife, Mae Brubaker Wolgemuth, would have observed their S6th wedding anniversary in November. He was the head of Wolgemuth Orchards, Inc., Mount Joy, and a member of Mount Joy Mennonite Church. Born in Mount Joy Township, he was a son of the late Jacob E. and Maggie Keener Wolge- muth. Surviving are his widow and these children: J. Lloyd, Mount Joy R2; Jean E., wife of Clifford "W. Breneman, Lancaster R2; Thelma. B. Wolgemuth, Immokalee, Fla.; Lois B. Wolgemuth, Middletown: John H., Mount Joy R2; 14 grandchildren, one great- grandchildren, and two sis- ters, Ruth W., wife of John E. Melhorn, Mount Joy, and B. Irene Wolgemuth, Rheems. Keith Brightbill is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Brightbill, Mount Joy. writes to Mount Joy kids Sunday School students at Glossbrenner United Methodist Church sent a letter to President Jerry Ford. thanking him for being a good leader. The president wrote a reply, thanking the students for their high opinion of him. The letter to the presi- dent grew out of Sunday School lesson about Nehemiah. Nehemiah was a good leader of Biblical times. who led the Israel- ites back to Judea. He rebuilt the walls of Jerus- alem and rebuilt the Temple, which had been destroyed. Following their lession plan, teachers Fern Ney, Sandy Heisey, and Jackie Peifer, suggested that their Ist and 2nd grade student: thank their own good leaders. The students de- cided to thank local fire and police chiefs, their pastor, and the U.S. Presi- dent. Mark Dimler composed the letter to Jerry Ford and everybody in the class signed it. The letter in- formed the president that everyone in the class had said a prayer for him. Mark's letter also in- cluded a tough, important question. “Why did you want to be president? he asked. Braves are defeated On September 12 the Cocalico Midget Football teams handed the Donegal Braves their first loss of the season. The “‘B’" team was beaten 7 to 0 after putting up a strong defen- sive battle. The ““A’’ team which was hampered by injuries and penalties had only one good quarter; when Steve Neal ran 58 yards for a touchdown. The final Score was 28—6 with Cocalico on top. The ‘‘C” team could fair’ no better, as the defense looked good, but the offense could not click, The score was Coca- lico 19, Donegal zip. All three teams are practicing hard for next week's game.
