After the “power line” Volunteer victim Bill Hall had to lie on the floor in the front seat of a car for over two hours. ....Greider explains (continued from Page | What they're asking appa- rently is for teachers to subsidize the school dis- trict.”’ “We're not keeping up with the cost of living,"’ he Savs. He continues, ‘‘The Donegal teachers do care about the kids. The board has cut staff and cut programs, which hurts the quality of education.” “We in the DEA realize that there are sensible, reasonable men on the school board. When those reasonable, sensible men get tired of the haggling that is going on, and stand up and make themselves heard, we'll get a settle- ment."’ Ted Greider concludes, "Right now the question is: How long will it take those reasonable men to be heard?" wp x was removed, firemen were able to extinguish the blaze. (continued from Page 1) said, ‘‘She should get an Academy Award for that performance. She had chills running up my spine.” Following the accident, instructor Tony Malvoso, an experienced professional para-medic, reviewed the action by firemen and ambulance crew. He said they did an excel- lent job and would go as far as to say the Mount Joy ‘class was probably one of the most ‘‘productive classes I've attended.” He suggested they take care, especially at night, to make sure power lines were not in the way. They lost one fireman from elec- trocution. One suggestion from Kent Leid was to pay strict attention to what the acci- dent victim is saying. This came about when ‘the father’ asked where his little girl was and the attendant told him she was in the back seat. There was no little girl in the car, only three boys. One thing stressed by the instructor was the fact that when one of the crew members is lost, such as the fireman who was electrocuted, the psychological effect on the other members could knock out the entire company. His instructions were to tend the injured crew member immediately so to avoid any effect on other crew members. The ambulance crew in- cludes Mary Hoffmaster; Rose Grove; Nettie Germer and Jere Hoffmaster.
