Stephen Getty was elected the chairperson of the Division of Health and Welfare of the Department of Church and Community. The work of the Division focuses primarily on the ministry to the aging and the work being done in Presyterian related Homes for the Aging in the area covered by the Synod, which is Pennsylvania, W. Virginia and southeastern Ohio. The Divsion is also concerned with all health and welfare services being provided in the tri-state area and with informing local pastors about these various services. Many community services for the aging and disabled, such as meals-on- wheels, homemaking serv- ices and health air pro- grams, are promoted by the Division. The Division provides workshops and seminars throughout the Synod. Other concerns re- late to the needs of people in Appalachia, migrant workers, and other special interest groups. * Besides being pastor of the First Presbyterian Church in Mount Joy, Rev. CROSSROADS CHURCH The Crossroads Brethren in Christ Church at South Angle Street and Donegal Springs Road in Mount Joy is sponsoring evangelistic services this week. The public is invited to hear Orion T. Rhodes, interna- tional evangelist, speak on the theme ‘‘God’s Plan for your Life’’ and special music each evening, Wed- nesday September 8 through Saturday, Septem- ber 12, at 7:30 p.m., as well as Sunday Morning, September 13, at 10:30 a.m. and Sunday evening at 7:00 p.m. ST. MARK’S On Wednesday evening, September 8, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m., Junior and Senior High young people from the congregation and the Mount Joy community will meet for the first time in the Fellowship Hall of the church for a time of fun and sharing. The programs will then continue each Wednesday evening on a regular basis. The youth will engage in projects and a variety of activities; they will also engage in the study of God’s word. Sharon Givler is coordi- nating this new venture in youth mininstry. She is being assisted by Brian and Janice Brubaker, Don and Carole Musser, Bob and Myrl Sherk, Rob and Cindy Stoner, Greta Weidner and Sherry Williams. The new officers for the coming year in the youth age level of St..
