The meet was held at the Mount Joy pool, and the team didn’t disappoint Germer, Sherri Kinsey; back row- Amy Hess, Linda Sherk, Rod Fellenbaum, and Scotty Ney. Mt. Joy swimmers win divisional tourney the home town fans. Top-scoring Mount Joy finished the meet with 288 points. Next in line were Willow Street (270 points), Manheim (231 points), Ephrata (214 points), Lititz Springs (20S points) and Connestoga Valley (78 points). Mount Joy edges out Manheim 212 to 207 Mount Joy swam against Manheim at our home pool this past week, July 27th, to win by a close margin of 212 to 207. Mount Joy’s team marched to thier pool side from the locker room again, with more team spirit, ever shown by the team. Mount Joy’s oppo- nents swam an exciting and very tough meet. On some of the events the vigor put forth by both teams you might have thought you were viewing the Olympics. Coach Buchenauer listed the following 1st place winners: 8 and under girls Linda Sherk - Br. 8 and under boys Jay Darkey, Scott Ney, Kevin Jones, and Andy Breault - Relay. 10 and under girls Amy Hess - Fr., Bk., and Bu. 10 and under boys Mark Shearer - Bk. and Bu.; and George Rice - Br. 12 and under girls Wendy Weller - Bk.; and Betsy Germer - Br. 12 and under boys Rodney Fellenbaum - Fr., Bk., and R. Mount Joy will have hosted July 31st Divisional III Championships to see if their team can take another trophy to add to their collection this year. In- dividuals from our team will be traveling August 6 and 7th to Lancaster for the City-County Swim to end the swimming competition season.
