Classes for four-year-old children meet Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings, beginning September 14th. The purpose of the school is to enable children to gain confidence in their own capabilities, apart from parental discipline, as they work and play sociably and gain experience in basic learning skills, pre- paratory to kindergarten. The teacher of the school is Mrs. Cheryl K. Ronan. Registration information may be obtained by tele- phoning the church office, 426-1884, or by writing the church, R.D.#1, Marietta. Rancks to be feted at St. Mark’s Church Dr. Ezra H. Ranck and his wife, Dorothy, will be guests of honor at a re- ception for them in the Fellowship Hall of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, Mount Joy, on Sunday afternoon, July 18, 1976, from 4 to 6 p.m. Dr. Ranck has just re- tired from his official duties as pastor of the Milton Grove and Moyers U.M. Churches and as Associate in Ministry of St. Mark's Church—positions which he held for the past three years after the retirement from the East PA Con- ference. The Pastor-Parish Rela- tions Committee of St. Mark’s Church is sponsor- ing the reception for the Rancks in appreciation for the faithful ministry to the New building planned The Board of Trustees of Kraybill Mennonite School, Inc., in recent action decid- ed to proceed with plans for a new elementary school building. Final de- cision to build culminated months of discussion and prayer in which the Lord’s directon was sought. The new elementary building to be built adja- cent to the present Junior High Building will have eight classrooms, a learn- ing materials center, and administrative offices. The new facility will replace the present elementary struc- ture which will eventually be converted into a com- bination auditorium and recreation center. Total cost of the building is expected to be about $241,500. Clayton Gerlach Inc., of Leola is general contractor and Norman Gerlach of Washington Boro is architect. Con- struction is under general supervision of a building committee of which Richard Winey of Middletown is chairman. It is expected that the new facility will be ready for occupancy prior to January 1, 1977. This recent move by the school to expand its facili- ties is a result of efforts to meet the growing interest in education of youth in a Christian environment. Anticipated enrollment in the school for the 1976-77 term is 225 in kindergarten through ninth grade. Work- ing with the staff of eleven full time teachers and three part time teachers, princi- pal Leon Good attempts to provide a good academic program with Biblical emphasis throughout. In keeping with the apprecia- tion for acapella singing by many of its supporting churches, the school main- tains a strong music pro- gram. Using the former Kray- bill Mennonite Church for its first classrooms, the school was begun in 1949 and has been operating since mainly by members of the Mennonite and Brethren in Christ churches. However, the school has always wel- comed students from homes of Christian parents of other denominations. The students attending the school in the recent term represented thirty-eight congregations and came distances as far as Harris- burg. The construction of the new building is a ‘“‘faith”’ move on the part of the church and community not only during the past three years but also during the 17 previous years (1938 to 1955S) when Dr. Ranck served St. Mark's the first time as pastor. Members of the church and friends of the com- munity are asked to drop by any time within the two hour period to express appreciation and to share in some refreshments. The Rancks will continue to reside at the Harvest- view Apartments in Mount Joy in the immediate future. They hope to be able to enjoy some travel and to continue to share in the life and activities of the church. Dr. Ranck serves on a number of boards and agencies of the United Methodist Church. at Kraybill eight member Board of Trustees. With Richard Winey of Middletown as chairman, the board will depend on the supporting churches and patrons and interested individuals for repayment of the necessary loans. Music at C&M Alliance Church On Sunday, July 18, the HARVESTIME Musical Ministry from Lewistown, PA will appear at the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, 153 East High Street, Elizabethtown. The Buddy Krepp Family will sing at the Sunday School and Morning Wor- ship Service at 9:15 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. At the 7 p.m. evening worship ser- vice they will present a Musical Concert. All are welcome to attend.
