Officers and members were installed into the Mount Joy Business and Professional Women’s Club recently at Hostetters Ban- quet Hall. Miss Naomi Myers, Director of District #7 served as installing officer for the installation of current officers, she was assisted by Mrs. Shirley Butz, both are members of the Columbia Business and Professional Women's Club. These officers assumed their respective offices: Mrs. John Fry, president; M:s. Earl Koser, vice- president; Mrs. Albert Whalen, 2nd vice-presi- dent; Mrs. Ronald Hart, corresponding secretary; Miss Sandra Heisey, re- cording secretary; and Mrs. Barry Etsel, treasurer. Mrs. Albert Whalen, chairperson of the mem- bership committee, arrang- ed the program which in- cluded group singing accompanied by Mrs. Eliz- abeth Baley - and directed by Mrs. Patricia Enos. Mrs. Eugene Eicherly inducted the twelve new members: Elizabeth Baley, Virginia Buckley, Patricia Enos, Margaret Eyer, Christine Graham, Gail Hoover, Ethel Huss, Grace Koser, Carol Lambert, Ada Thompson, Dorothy Wag- ner, and Marlene Bell. Mrs. Eicherly explained the BPW symbol and lead the group in the pledge. Each new member received a rose bud as a symbol of friendship. Mrs. Whalen read, ‘‘To be the Best of Whatever You Are.” Mrs. James Heilig, per- sonal development chair- person, introduced the girl of the month, Judy Stoltz- fus, and her mother, Mrs. Henry Stoltzfus who was also a guest. Mrs. Lester Roberts, chairperson of the scholarship committee in- troduced the winner, Kathy Beach, winner of the Mount Joy BPW scholar- ship of $500. Mrs. Jane Beach, mother of the re- cipient was introduced. Mother of the year, Mrs. Warren Foley, sponsored by the BPW was intro- duced by last year's re- cipient, Mrs. Gilbert Hamilton, who presented her resume. Mrs. John Fry, presi- dent, gave a report of the state convention held in Pittsburg recently. The local club won four awards: attendance; equalizing member; outstanding acheivement of expansion; 100% contribution toward foundation and for equaliz- ing membership in 1975, and a traveling gong for the largest increase for membership of clubs with over 80 members. The group voted to attend the play ‘‘Annie Get Your Gun’’, at the Fulton Opera House in August. The benefit is sponsored by District 7 of the Federation of Business and Profes- sional Women’s Clubs.
