To see our team come from behind and in the breast stroke event take a lead, was sure an exciting meet to watch. It certainly was nip and tuck till the end. Mount Joy’s victory ended with a 218 to 181 score. Coach Buchenauer listed the following winners for the events of Freestyle (fr.), Backstrock (Bk), Breaststroke (Br.), Butter- fly (Bu.), and Relay (r.), as to age groups and first place winners. Marietta beat E-Town Mer- chants 13 to 9 in a well fought contest. In the Chiques/Heistand’s game, Chiques came out on top with a score of 6 to O. Chique’s catcher, Barb Hoover paced the hitting department batting 4 for 4. On Tuesday evening, Heistand’s Chrys/Ply. took their first win against Chapmans’ Apparel, 19-9. Heistands’ 28 hits included 3 triples and S doubles. Also on Tuesday evening, Mount Joy handed Farm Diner their 2nd defeat this season, knocking them out of first place. In the early game Thurs- day evening, Marietta beat Farm Diner, 10 to S sewing up first place. Farm Diner again out hit their opponents 11 to 10 but were unable to score those ‘““needed’’ runs. Marietta’s team is made up of girls aged from 1S to 19 and with their coach on vaca- tion, they did an excellent job of coaching themselves.
