MARK’S CHURCH Mary Ellen Kohler Sixteen collegians from Geneva College, Beaver Falls, PA under the direc- tion of Miss Sharon Givler, performing as ‘‘Sounds of Joy" will appear in concert in the sanctuary of St. Mark's United Methodist Church, Mount Joy, on Saturday evening, April 17th, at 7:30 p.m. Since their beginning in October 1975, this group has been traveling and minister- ing in churches throughout the Western PA area. Through song and testi- mony their program depicts the Christian life and re- sponsibility to the Lord Jesus Christ. Their unique understanding of the pro- blems and frustrations fac- ing young and old alike enables them to empathize and suggest solutions to those problems as they share their faith. Their purpose is to encourage, uplift, and challenge their hearers through contempor- ary Christian music by such composers as Andre Crouch, Ralph Carmichael, and Kurt Kaiser. Families from St. Mark’s Church will house the members of the ensemble overnight. The concert is open to the public with a special invitation extended to the young people of the area.
