March 31, 1976 Maytown Aux. fixing chicken soup The ladies of the Maytown Fire Co. Auxilliary have been working long hours mak- ing chicken corn soup for the company’s Memorial Day celebration. Lizzie Copenheffer, young at 104 Lizzie Copenheffer, who was 104 years young on Sunday, reports that she is ‘doing just fine." Aunt Lizzie, as she is affectionately known, is still active and a frequent visitor to her neighbors at the Landis Retirement Home, Lititz R3, where she resides. The centenarian can walk as fast as many younger people and eats in the Donegal schools plan census The Donegal School Dis- trict conducts a census survey each year of all residents living within the school district. Each home will be visited starting April 1, 1976. The census has no direct influence on property as- sessments or rate of person- al taxes, but is needed to secure an accurate count of residents within the school district. The information will be data processed and files maintained which will be utilized by the schools to best serve the total popula- tion. It is requested that all individuals cooperate with the census takers so the project may be completed with minimum cost prior to May 1, 1976. The census takers for the school district are: E. She was the guest of honor at the birth- day luncheon on Sunday which was planned by her nieces and nephews. Although deaf since she was an infant, Aunt Lizzie is an avid reader and devotes much time to studying her Bible and reading local and Ohio newspapers. Possibly the oldest resi- dent of Lancaster County, she once remarked, ‘‘God has a reason for giving me 100 years and I thank the Good Lord.” Sandblasting planned for Maytown church Plans are being made to sand-blast the Reformed Church in Maytown.
