Ambulance crew get jumpsuits Six new jumpsuits have recently been purchased by the Marietta Area Ambul- ance Association members for personnel to wear on duty. The overall is yellow with the Association’s name appearing on the back. The ambulance needs volunteers - drivers and attendants. Women who work at home are encouraged to volunteer as drivers, since they are available during the day. crew both A first aid course will be taught to a number of volunteers as soon as names are submitted. Joy The Borough: of Mount Joy will be providing FREE residential trash pickup to all residents during the last two weeks of April (April 19th through April 30th). Residents are urged to take advantage of this opportun- ity and get their spring cleaning done. By following these guide- lines, you will assist us in our cleanup. Please use good judgement so far as quantity is concerned. Small Items: Items weigh- ing less than 50 Ibs. and smaller than a 20 gallon trash container, that are not heavy guage metal will be picked up by the garbage crew as a part of the regularly scheduled pickup. All brush and paper must be bundled. Large Items: Including old furniture, appliances, interspring mattresses and large piles of brush. To have items picked up, you must call the Borough Office (653-2300) and leave your name, address, and phone number. These items must be placed at the curb or alley for pickup. The Borough will then pick up these items at its convenience. Bus to carry Gloria’s fans in June Everyone who wants to root for Gloria Longenecker, Miss Lancaster County, at the Miss Pennsylvania Pageant in Altoona, can take a bus direct from Donegal High School. The Miss Pennsylvania Pageant will be featured June 10, 11, and 12th at the Jaffa Mosque, Altoona, PA at 8:00 each evening. Bus accomodations are sche- duled only for Saturday, June 12th. The bus leaves at 4 p.m., from Donegal High School, with return sche- duled to be at about 3:00 a.m., June 13. All tickets will reserve seats, placing local communiters in a group. Interested persons are encouraged to place their reservations without delay, as the reservation time expires on April 24th. Wenger, 23, of Manheim R2 was killed last Friday when his motorcycle struck a car on Elm Tree Road in Rapho Township. Mrs. Mount Joy R2, and her two sons, who were in the car, received only minor injuries. Marietta park is restored The Federal Housing and Urban Development agency has completed restoration of the Marietta War Memorial Park, where trailers were parked during the 1972 flood, Marietta Civil De- fense director William Breckline reports. The borough has received S red oak trees, 5S pin oaks, 3 sweet gum trees, 4 dog- woods, and S cherry trees, all about 7 feet high, from the federal agency. “The park is just about back in the shape it was,” Mr. Breckline says. Grading has been done, and 150 lbs of grass seed from HUD have been sown. The new picnic tables should be installed in 3-4 weeks. Mr. Breckline also reports that the Marietta street sweeping program is now in full swing. Any areas that were missed will be swept at a later date. Mount Joy streets will be swept The streets with curbing will be swept during -the early part of April. The Borough of Mount Joy would like to request that all residents cooperate by heeding the ‘‘“No Parking”’ signs and moving their cars when the sweeping begins on their particular street.
