Page 8 - SUSQUEHANNA TIMES Rev. McAdoo opposed to restrictive laws The Rev. William A. McAdoo, former pastor of the English United Presby- terian Church in Marietta, has written a letter to the U.S. Supreme Court, accusing of making laws that interfere with the free exercise of religion. Such interfere:ice is prohibited by the First Amendment. In his letter printed in the Cape Cod Times, Rev. McAdoo states that the court by some of its rulings has permitted ‘‘an artist’ to declare when and where people may pray. In his letter he stated a fear that unless the Court changes 1ts ruling, prayers may be forbidden at the opening of Congress, in TV and radio, in the Military Rev. McAdoo Chaplaincy, and even Church news. Rev. McAdoo, a former Army chaplain, lives now in West Yarmouth, Mass. New members in Nat.
