He was born in Philadelphia on Jan. 17, 1926, and was a graduate of Northeast High School, Philadelphia. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, serving in China. After the war, he attended Drexel University in Philadelphia. He started out as a toolmaker and finished his career as a sales engineer for Lemuel R. Lance Inc., Philadelphia, where he worked from 1968 until his retirement in 2001. He had been a resi- dent of the Back Mountain area since 1963. Surviving are his wife of 64 years, the former Irene Stevenson, Dallas; children, Susan, Washington, D.C; Thomas, Woodbury, N.J.; Margaret Crawford duBell, Doylestown; Lisa Quetsch, Mantua, N.J.: and Robert A. He was born May 19, 1934, in Kingston, and was a member of Holy Resurrection Orthodox Cathedral in Wilkes-Barre. He retired after 35 years of service to the Pennsylvania Gas and Water Co. She was a member of the Women of the Dallas Kiwanis and a volunteer for the Back Mountain Memorial Library auction. She was a member of St. Therese’s Church, Shavertown, where she was a lector and was active in its Altar and Rosary Society and Women’s Faith Sharing and Prayer Ministry. Surviving are her husband of 60 years, Peter G. He was a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict, having served as a radio operator in Saigon, South Vietnam, from 1963 to 1964. He was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal with one Bronze Star, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal Ribbon with Device, National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Expert Rifle, Expert Carbine, . Bronze Star Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal and Combat Infantryman Badge, First Award. He also received the Combat Infantryman Badge. He retired as a service technician from the Pennsylvania Gas & Water Co. and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 283, Kingston. Surviving are his wife, the former Anita Shea, with whom he would have celebrated his 47th wedding anniversary in October; sister, Deborah Petroski Higgins, Dallas; brother, Rayford, Dallas; nieces, nephews, great- nieces and great-nephews.
