Ostroski wins junior miss title Tegan Ostroski, of Shaver- town, recently competed at the Performing Arts Alliance ance competition in King of ussia where she was named itle winner for the Junior Miss Photogenic ages 8-9 and Junior Miss Performing Arts ages 8-9. Ostroski won a total of six first place and one second- place solo events. She also won three first-place duo/trio events and one second-place duo event. She is also a member of the dance groups “Sugar” and En- core which earned five first place and second second place group events. _ Ostroski has also qualified to perform 13 individual and group events at the Perform- ing Arts Alliance Contest of Champions this month. The daughter of Rick and Chris Ostroski, she is a dance student under the direction of Robert and Kristine Oberst, owners and directors of the Back Mountain Dance Studio, Dallas. STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP NOTICE The Roy W. Piper Charitable Trust, Tunkhannock, announces the availability of annually renewable scholarships, beginning academic year 2013-2014. Fully completed applications will be accepted from graduating high school seniors or those students already attending an accredited higher education institution. Principle preference will be given to Wyoming, Lackawanna, and Luzerne county students. Scholarships are awarded based upon a combination of financial need, academic merit and community service/extracurricular activities, and are for use of education at an accredited higher education institution. Application packages can be obtained from student’s high school guidance departments within above counties or by email request to piperscholarship@frontier.com (Denote “Application Request” in subject line and note code “DP”). All forms will be emailed. All completed applications must be received by the Trust by March 15, 2013.
