Oriole 5 Phillies 4 Devin Robbins drove in the winning run in an extra-inning affair as the Orioles snuck by the Phils, 54, in seven innings. Kyle Archer, Dalton Simpson and Robbins combined for the win, striking out 12. Charles Gia- cometti, Matt Mathers and Rob- O’Connell’s bins each had two hits for the vic- tors. Lee Eckert was strong on the mound for the Phillies, striking out 12. Eckert also had three hits with a double and a triple in the loss. Jared Deffenbach hit a two- run homer and Andy Zeyher had a double for the Phillies. Orioles 7 Athleticss 5 The Orioles improve their re- cord to 5-0, defeating the Athlet- ics, 7-5. On the mound, Dalton Simp- son and Matt Mathers earned the win. At the plate for the Orioles, Kyle Archer, Devin Rob- bins, Dalton Simpson and Kyle McAndrew all had hits. Derek Peters and Josh Hold- redge threw well for the Athlet- ics. Mason Gattuso led the Ath- letics at the plate with two hits. Mike Collins had a hit while An- drew Kovalick and Elijah Geise each had a triple. Astros 9 Dodgers 6 Jorden Finch earned the victo- ry on the mound as the Astros edged the Dodgers, 9-6. Drew Patton got the save. Pat- ton also led the Astros offense with a triple and single. Noah Gorski had two hits with a double and two runs scored. Nick Kocher singled twice and scored two runs. Noah Gorski and Kocher led the Astros on offense with three hits apiece, including a double and three runs scored. Jorden Finch chipped in with two hits and two runs scored. Josh Lydon and Mike Luksic pitched well for the Rangers. Ma- lik Kaleta had a huge day at the plate for the Rangers, which in- cluded his first career home run. Kaleta also singled and scored two runs. Luksic singled twice and Chris Hadsall pounded out a double for the Rangers. Dodgers 7 Athletics 5 The Dodgers picked up their first win of the season as they snuck by the Athletics, 7-5. The Dodgers were led by the strong pitching combination of Cameron Shaner and Alex Ka- pral. The Dodgers’ nine-hit at- tack was led by Shaner with three hits, including two doubles and two RBIs, Ben O'Connell with two hits, including a triple and three RBIs, and Jake Selingo with a triple. Alex Kapral added a double and two RBIs in the win. The Athletics’ offense was led by Ma- son Gattuso with two hits, in- cluding a triple, Josh Holdredge with two hits and Anthony Gra- dinetti with a double. Yankees 15 Phillies 5 Lorenzo Buchhalter picked up his first win of the season and combined with Derek Answini to strike out eight as the Yanks clubbed the Phils, 15-5. Cody Coolbaugh led the 14-hit Yankees offense with three hits. Owen Sprau, Carl Markowski and Michael Doggett added two hits each. Markowski hit his first home run of the season while driving in four in the win. Collin Pert] hit his first home run of the season while driving in two. Andy Zeyher had three hits for the Phillies while Jay Bittner and Lee Eckert added two hits each in the loss. Astros 7 Red Sox 3 Nick Kocher struck out 10 to earn the victory as the Astros de- feated the Red Sox, 7-3. Noah Gorski earned the save, striking out four. Adam Sutton led the Astros offensive attack with a 3-3 performance at the plate, including a double, two RBIS and three runs scored. Matt Dillon also chipped in with a double and two runs scored. Jayson Strausser pitched well for the Red Sox, striking out six. J.D. Barrett was perfect in his three trips to the plate for the Red Sox, pounding out a double and scoring a run. Jayson Strausser went 2-3, in- cluding a double, and Jason An- derson added two hits. Yankees 15 Giants 5 Carl Markowski picked up his second win of the season and combined with Jordan Vitkoski and Cody Coolbaugh to strike out 11 as the Yankees pounded the Giants, 15-5. Michael Doggett led the Yan- kee offense with four hits while Coolbaugh and Markowski add- ed three hits each. Owen Sprau, Vitkoski, Darren Kerdesky and Evan McClain all had two hits for the Yankees. Markowski and Vit- koski also drove in four runs apiece. Aaron Becker had three hits for the Giants and Christopher Huntington added two hits to lead the Giants offense. Yankees 4 Red Sox 3 Cody Coolbaugh and Collin Pertl held the Red Sox in check as the Yankees snuck by, 4-3. Coolbaugh picked up his sec- ond win of the season and com- bined with Pert] to allow three hits while striking out 12. JD Barrett and Jason Anderson held the Yankees to two hits in the loss. Coolbaugh doubled and a sin- gle by Derek Answini allowed the Yankees to hold on for the win. Robert Wagner tripled and Jayson Strausser doubled to lead Bandits girls win 3 7/8 GIRLS Wyoming Seminary 11 Back Mountain 8 The Bandits 7/8 girls fell to Wyoming Seminary, 11-8. Danielle McCole tried a turn in goal in the second half, turning away eight of 13 shots to keep the game close. Scoring twice each for Back Mountain were Jordan Kelly, Alyssa Adams and Hailee Du- mont. Julia Hutsko and Hunter Pittman each added a score. Springfield Spartans 9 Back Mountain 6 The Bandits attended the Abington Girls Lacrosse Annual Play Day where they had an op- portunity to test their skills against Philadelphia-area teams. Despite being without their regular goalie, the girls managed three wins against just one loss on the day. In the opening game, Back Mountain got off to a shaky start as their opponent quickly scored five goals on five shots. The Bandits rallied back to close the gap on the strength of five goals by Hanna Stull and two goals and an assist by Brigid Wood but were unable to pull out the victory.
