Travel team captures league fitle The Dallas Sixth-Grade Girls Travel Basketball Team won the league championship in the Wyoming Valley West Fall Bas- ketball League and enjoyed an undefeated season, going 14-0. SRR Dallas swimmer Christopher Tamanini won two medals at the recent PIAA Class AA State Swimming Championships. Tamanini captures two state medals Dallas senior Christopher Ta- manini captured two state med- als at the recent PIAA Class AA Swimming Championships held at Bucknell University in Lewisburg. Tamanini captured fifth place in the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 52.82 and seventh place in the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 47.82. Both times broke the old Dallas school records, previously set by Tamanini. Along with teammates Brian Stepniak, Brandon Harding and Jake Chielli, Tamanini cap- tured ninth place in the 200 me- dley relay. Tamanini was also part of a ninth-place finish in the 400 freestyle relay which in- cluded Stepniak,Chielli and Jon Laity. The Dallas boys swim team finished in the top 10 among 59 teams competing for the state championship.
