The boys competed at the Wilkes-Barre CYC on February 27 and the girls’ competition was held on March 6. Michael Luksic had 12 for Brandon Harding, Jake Chielli, Brian Stepniak and Jon Laity. STATE BOUND SWIMMERS Six Dallas swimmers win District medals, earn right to compete at state level. The Dallas boys swim team completed a 150 undefeated season and earned its second District AA championship title. The team will send six mem- bers to state competition March 16 and 17 at Bucknell Universi- ty. : Jake Chielli, Brandon Hard- ing, Chris Tamanini and Marcus Wagner all qualified for state competition. Chielli will swim the 50 frees- Members of the Dallas High School swim team with their District AA medals are, from left, are Marcus Wagner, Chri tyle (seeded fifth) and the 100 freestyle (seeded 13th). Bran- don Harding will swim the 100 breaststroke (seeded 12th) and the 100 butterfly (seeded 20th). Wagner qualified for the 200 and 500 freestyle (seeded 32nd in both events) while Tamanini is seeded ninth in the 100 frees- NE tyle and sixth in the 100 butter- fly. The medley relay team of Chielli, Harding, Tamanini and Brian Stepniak is seeded sev- enth in the state while the 400 freestyle relay team of Chielli, Tamanini, Stepniak and Jon Lai- ty, is seeded sixth in the state. DALLAS YOUTH BASKETBALL Farrell's 16 leads Magic to 55-47 win 3rd & 4th GRADE BOYS Fieldhouse 55 Dallas Lions 47 Jack Farrell exploded for 16 points to lead the Fieldhouse Sporting Goods Magic to a 55-47 victory over Dallas Li- ons Hornets in semifinal ac- tion in the Dallas Youth Bas- ketball League. Jack Lukasav- age had 13 points for the Hornets. Northeastern Eye 22 Diversified 15 Christopher Carver led all scorers with 15 points as Northeastern Eye Institute Bulls defeated Diversified Payrolls Solutions Spurs, 22- Diversified. Fieldhouse 31 Northeastern Eye 18 Fieldhouse Sporting Goods Magic won the cham- pionship game with a 31-18 victory ovet the Northeast- ern Eye Institute Bulls. Mi- chael Anderson led the win- ners with 14 points while Christopher Carver had 11 for Northeastern Eye. ~ DYB TRAVEL TEAM WINS CHAMPIONSHIP The Dallas Youth Basketball eighth-grade travel team defeated GAR, 41-36, to grab the play- off championship. Down by eight points at the half, Dallas used a balanced scoring attack to come back. Jonathan Wilson brought the DYB team within two with a key basket. Allen Fell then tied it on the foul line. Omar Nijmeh and Jamie Flores made key defensive plays to keep the comeback alive. With the game tied, Jake Archer hit two clutch free throws to put Dallas ahead for good. Fever captures first place The Fever captured first place in the Dallas Youth Basketball Fifth and Sixth-Grade Girls Division, finishing with an overall record of 14-1.
