By SARAH HITE shite@mydallaspost.com ~ Council passed motions at its meeting Wednesday to add pro- tective equipment and a new cruiser to. the borough’s police department with grant funds re- ceived last year. Council authorized an ex- pense of $20,000 from a state Department of Community and Economic Development Emer- gency Responders Resource and Training grant and up to $13,468 from the general fund for the purchase of a 2011 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor cruis- er. The car, to be purchased from Warnock Fleet, will cost $22,321 with an additional po- lice outfitting cost of $11,147. Borough Manager Tracey Carr said the vehicle was a defi- nite need for the police .depart- ment, as the car it will replace is a 2004 with “a lot” of miles on it.
