Sunday, January 9, 2011 THE DALLAS PAGE 9 Wycallis Elementary students hold pajama drive Students in kindergarten classes at Wycallis Elementary School held a pajama drive De- cember 6-10. With the help of parents and teachers, students collected a total of 195 new paja- mas for area children in need. The kindergarteners collected the pajamas for Pajama Pro- gram, a nonprofit organization that provides pajamas and books to children who live in group homes, shelters, foster care and orphanages. Scholastic Books is matching the amount of pajamas donated with 195 books to the children in need. Wycallis Ele- mentary also had a school-wide Pajama Party day on December 10 in support of the drive. Kin- dergarten teachers at Wycallis elementary are Mrs. Susan Cra- hall and Mrs. Flynn. Mrs. Kath- leen McCarthy is principal. LUZERNE COUNTY DA VISITS DALLAS MIDDLE SCHOOL Luzerne County District Attorney Jackie Musto-Carroll pre- sented her program, “2Smart4Trbl,” to all students at Dallas Middle School recently. The proactive presentation allowed stu- dents in grades six, seven and eight to view a video that ad- dressed common situations within the juvenile justice system. The video was followed by a question and answer session where Musto-Carroll discussed common misconceptions of students related to the law.
