THE DALLAS POST Sunday, October 24, 2010 Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Slocum as they appeared on their wedding day in 1960. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Slocum have been married 50 years. Slocums wed 30 years Mr. and Mrs. Ernest (Bud) Slocum, of Dallas, celebrated their 50th wedding anniver- sary on Sept. 10, 2010. Mrs. Slocum, the former Charlotte Traver, is the daughter of the late Robert and Lucy Traver. She is the director of health services and former head softball coach at Misericordia University. Mr. Slocum is the son of the late Pauline Varner and was a self-employed contractor/ex- cavator. They were joined together in matrimony Sept. 10, 1960, at the Alderson Methodist Church, Harveys Lake, by the Rev. John Gordon. Attendants were Marilyn Traver Neifert, maid of honor; Joan Moore Carson, Mary El- len Kerwin Bomboy, Rhoda Stuscavage Kucharchik and Treva Shirley Traver, brides- maids; Jim Spencer, best man; and Jack Swire, Bruce Varner Jr., Tony Austin Jr., and Hen- ry Cerquozzi, ushers. Mr. and Mrs. Slocum are the parents of four children, Ernie and his wife, Lisa, Dal- las; Tracey, deceased; Cindy and her dog, Riley, Randall- stown, Md.; and Susie Tripo- ney and her husband, Mike, McElhattan. They are the grandparents of one grand- daughter, Cassidy Triponey, and her dog, Browning, McEl- hattan.
