In addition to needed expan- sion work on Mercy Tyler's Emergency Department, the grant will also be used to sup- port the renovation of the hos- pital’s laboratory and both out- patient and imaging depart- ments. The Redevelopment As- sistance = Capital Program (RACP) grant must be matched by corporate, individ- ual and foundation support to Mercy Tyler Hospital. Hospital officials noted that the renovations are critically needed now as Mercy Tyler ex- pands services to care for a community that is changing rapidly. The planned improve- ments will increase clinical treatment space in the emer- gency department, decrease patient wait times and enhance patient privacy. Construction on the project is expected to begin next year. In support of this project, the Tyler Health Foundation has launched a capital campaign to raise the matching funds need- ed for the grant.
