Sunday, August 29, 2010 PAGE 5 THE DALLAS POST CUB PACK PLANS SIGN-UP NIGHT Cub Scout Pack 281, sponsored by the Dallas United Methodist Church, will hold its annual School Sign-Up Night for new Scouts from 6 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 8, at the Dallas Elementary School Cafeteria. Scouts enjoy Acahela Wolf Scouts, Bear Scouts and Webelos from Pack 281, Dallas, recently attended Camp Acahela in Bear Creek for a week-long learning ad- venture. The Scouts participated in various activities, such as swimming, tubing on the Le- high River, BB gun shooting, action archery, rocketry, the obstacle course and other var- ious Scout skills. The week culminated with a camp-wide campfire where awards were distributed and the boys performed a skit for the camp. Pack 281 earned the best decorated campsite award. Sixth Annual The Sixth Annual Noxen Vol- unteer Fire Company Intertribal Powwow with free admission will be held from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 25 and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sun- day, Sept. 26 at the Noxen Fire Co. grounds on Stull Road, Nox- en, Wyoming County. The event, which honors all nations and especially veterans, is a gathering for all people sponsored by the Noxen Fire Co. Gates open at 10 a.m. with Grand Entry of all dignitaries Powwow set and dancers in full regalia at noon Indian Time and again at 7 p.m. Saturday and at noon on Sunday. Dennis Wagner's Veter- ans Honor Guard will be fea- tured in the traditional Veterans Honoring Ceremony. Richard Gray Owl Greene will serve as emcee with several drums performing throughout the weekend. Storyteller is Grace Dove and Firekeeper is Walter Howell. The event will feature Native for Sept. 25 American dancing, drumming, storytelling, fry bread by Donna, crafts, beadwork, jewelry, blan- kets, food by the Noxen Fire Company and much more.
