She went on to beauty school and was a beautician for most of her life, having her shop in her home. She joined the Forkston Grange in 1936 and was a member for 74 years, also serving as a lecturer. She was a member of the Forkston United Methodist Church, the Cemetery Organization, Mehoo- pany Women’s Club, the United Methodist Women and the Com- munity Club. She was the Sunday School superintendent for many years, as well as the Forkston Township assessor. She wrote the Forkston News column for the New Age for many years. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps as amachine gunner during the Vietnam War where he was awarded the Purple Heart and Presidential Unit Citation, along with other service medals. Prior to his death, he worked for years in the road construction field, eventually attaining the job of superintendent for American Asphalt Paving Co. In 2004, he and his brother, William Janosky, started their own company, B&J Paving Contractors L.L.C.
