Parade, ceremony salute fallen war heroes It was a gorgeous day for the annual Daddow-Isaacs Dallas American Legion Post 672 an- nual Memorial Day Parade. Marion Kunigonis, a lifelong member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, was parade marshal. She is a 45-year volun- teer at the Department of Veter- ans Affairs Medical Center in Plains Township, working with veterans from many different wars. The parade began at the Vice Commander of American Legion District 12 John Emil Sr. plays taps during the Memorial Day ceremony at the Dallas Hon- or Roll. Chicken dinner set A chicken and biscuits din- ner/bake sale will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Sat- urday, June 12, at the Loyal- ville United Methodist Church. Cost is $8 for adults and $3.50 for children under the age of 12. Take-outs are available by calling 477-3521 and leaving a message with your name, phone number, number of dinners requested and pickup time. POP Church slates yard sale Prince of Peace Episcopal Church, Main Street, Dallas will host a Community Yard Sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 12. Vendor spaces are available at $10 for outdoor spaces (ta- ble not included) and $15 for indoor spaces. The kitchen will be open for light breakfast and lunch.
