SCHOOL BRIEFS Palissery will compete in tournament . Gates Palissery, a student in the Dallas School District, will compete in the Grand National Speech and Debate Tournament May 28-30 in Omaha, Nebraska. Palissery recently placed in Declamation category in a ament held by the Catholic Forensics League of Scranton at Abington Heights High School in Clarks Summit to determine which high school students would qualify to compete in the national tournament. Luzerne High Picnic meeting slated Luzerne High Picnic meeting will be held at 7 p.m. on Tues- day, March 23, at The Grille in the Luzerne Shopping Center. Representatives from all classes are needed to help plan and promote the all-alumni picnic. The annual picnic will be held from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday, July 18, at the Checkerboard Inn Pavilion, 385 Carverton Rd., Trucksville. Cost of $15.95 per person will include food and drinks and must be paid in ad- vance.
