Music Box schedules auditions The Music Box Repertory Company will hold auditions for “The Great American Trailer Park Musical,” a new show about agoraphobia, adultery, 80s nostalgia, spray cheese, road kill, hysterical pregnancy, a broken electric chair, kleptoma- nia, strippers, flan and disco, at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 24, at the Music Box Dinner Play- house, 196 Hughes St., Swoyers- ville. Anyone over the age of 18 is invited to audition. The cast consists of five women and two men and all roles are open. Those auditioning should pre- pare a brief song and bring sheet music; an accompanist will be provided. Performance dates are April 9, 10, 11, 16, 17, 18, 23, 24, 25. Scout Sunday program planned at DUMC Pack and Troop 281 of Dallas United Methodist Church will hold a Scout Sunday program at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 28. Born in Kingston on Sept. 22, 1942, she resided inHarveys Lake most of her life, prior to moving to Sweet Valley nine years ago. She served in the U.S. Marine Corps in the early 1960s. COLE - Loretta M., of Harveys Lake, formerly of North Wilkes- Barre, died Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2010 at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was a graduate of Coughlin High School, class of 1936. She had been employed in several area shoe and dress factories. Prior to her retirement, she and her late husband, John Cole Sr., owned and operated the Lei- sure Tavern, North Pennsylvania Avenue, Wilkes-Barre, and Lei- sure Tavern II, Luzerne Avenue, West Pittston, for more than 20 years. A native of Plymouth, she was a member of the Class of 1946 at Plymouth High School. In 1950, she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in business from the Col- lege of New Rochelle (CNR) in New Rochelle, N.Y. In 1980, she received the Ursu- la Laurus Award in recognition of distinguished service to the col- lege in furthering the high ideals and the rich traditions of Ursu- line education. She was a partner with her hus- band in the John Stenach Ford Co., a dealership founded by her father in 1934. She was a substi- tute teacher for business educa- tion in the Wilkes-Barre and Wyoming Valley West School Districts. She was active in the building of the Plymouth Public Library and served as the treasurer for the library building committee. Born December 17, 1913 in Wilkes-Barre, he graduated from Kingston High School in 1931 and the Wharton School Extension of the University of Pennsylvania, receiving an as- sociate degree Barre Lace Manufacturing Co. from 1932101954 and then be- came the secretary/treasurer of the Kanarr Corporation un- til retirement in 1972. He was a member of the Susquehanna Chapter of the Order of DeMolay and was awarded Legion of Honor and Chevalier in the Order. He was a 50-year member of both the Dallas Masonic Lodge No. 531 and Irem units. He was past president of the Dallas School Board, past president of the West Side Vo- cational and Technical School Board, past president of the Luzerne County School Board and a former trustee of Lu- zerne County Community College. He was a former member of the Wilkes-Barre Rotary and former member, trustee and treasurer of the Shavertown United Methodist Church. Surviving, in addition to his daughter, Charlene, are daughters, Brenda Susman and Betty Mannear; a son, John; nine grandchildren; 13 grandchildren; one niece. RUBIN - Stephen R., of Sha- vertown, died on Friday, Feb. 12, 2010 at his residence. Born in Newark, N.J. on No- vember 15, 1946, he graduated from Meyers High School, Wilkes-Barre, Class of 1946.
