The Back Mountain team, coached by Jeff Doggett, came out on top of a 4-0 score. The Horlacher team is coached by Tom Traver. SOCCER PLAYERS PLAN CAMP FOR CHILDREN For their senior project, Matt Bevan, Casey Dawes and Donny Searfoss, all members of the Lake-Lehman varsity soccer team, will hold a Youth Soccer Camp for children in grades three to seven. The camp will run from 5 to 7 p.m. August 10-14 at the Lake-Lehman High School. Registration will be from noon to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 1, at the Lake-Lehman High School. SLIDERS WIN SOFTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP ® ¢ The Sliders defeated the Phoenix, 15-5, to win the Major League Softball playoff championship in the Back Mountain Little League behind the pitching of Kelly Snyder and Victoria Fulton. Adam Niznik and Ed Hontz clubbed home runs for BMT. Josh Orlandini had two hit, Nick Mathers smashed a double and Matt Moleski singled for BMT. Aaron Yurko, Ryan Martin and Spencer Bowanko pitched Back Mountain to the win. BMT AMERICAN 19 KINGSTON 3 Back Mountain American de- feated Kingston, 19-3, to advance to the losers’ bracket finals in the District 31 10/11 All-Stars. Back Mountain pounded out 16 hits. Adam Niznik had two home runs. Josh Orlandini had two hits, including a home run. Ryan Martin had three hits, in- cluding a home run and a double. Spencer Bowanko, Aaron Yur- ko, Matt Moleski, Ray Ostrowksi, Nick Mathers and Tanner Gattu- so all had hits for BMT. Matt Moleski gave up four hits and hurled BMT to the win while Peter Capitano made a highlight reel catch in center field. SENIOR LEAGUE HARVEY'S LAKE 6 BACK MOUNTAIN 5 Harvey's Lake rallied from a 5-1 53 deficit in the top of the seventh inning to top Back Mountain, 6-5. Dylan Waslyk got the win while Pat Condo was tagged with the loss. Both starting pitch Justin Cornell and Kyle Cail) pitched well, but weren't in- volved in the decision. For BMT, Caffrey had three hits and Condo had two hits in the losing cause. Kyle LeValley had three hits for Harvey’s Lake. BACK MOUNTAIN 5 ED-LARK 4 Mark Malloy pitched a com- plete game and lead Back Moun- tain to a 54 win over Edwards- ville-Larksville. Bryan Mathers had two RBI and Kyle Caffrey scored two runs.
