Spring cleanup begins Dallas Borough Council has announced the annual spring cleanup will be held May 4-9 at the Dallas Borough Municipal Building, 25 Main St. Hours of operation will be from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday. Spring cleanup is only available to Dallas Borough residents. Regulations will be enforced for the 2009 spring cleanup. All residents will be required to ob- tain an admission permit for the cleanup and the following fee schedule will be implemented: Cars and small SUVs will re- quire a $5 permit (unlimited en- try). Mini vans, midsize SUVs and small pick-up trucks will require a $10 permit (one trip per coupon). Full size pick-up trucks, utility trailers and cargo vans of less than one ton will require $20 per- mit (one trip per coupon). Large vehicles over one ton will require : an $85 ert, (one trip limit). : Proof of esidincy suchas atax. bill or:driver’s license will be re- quired to purchase the necessary permit. Admission permits will be issued to the occupants, not owners, of Dallas Borough rental units. In an effort to avoid delays at the drop-off site during cleanup week, residents are asked to pre- purchase their permits during borough office hours from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Dallas Borough Municipal Building. No refunds will be is- sued. Residents are reminded that the borough will not accept household garbage, recyclables including yard waste, toxic or hazardous materials, asbestos, large construction debris, paint/ paint cans, batteries and ashes. The borough will accept a lim- ited number of non-commercial vehicle tires at a fee of $3 for each tire. Bulky furniture items and large appliances require an additional fee of $5 per item. All refrigera- tors, freezers, air conditioners and dehumidifiers must have documentation that all freon and other gases have been removed. Acceptance or rejection of any item is at the discretion of the Dallas Borough Road Depart- ment personnel and Dallas Bor- ough administration. Yard waste to be collected The Dallas Borough Road De- partment will conduct weekly curbside yard waste collection beginning the week of May 11. The weekly collection schedule will begin following the conclu- sion of the Dallas Borough an- nual spring cleanup scheduled for the week of May 4-9. Borough officials ask that resi- dents not place their green yard waste recycling containers curb- side prior to the beginning of the collection season. As in previous years, members of the borough road department will collect the equivalent of two 25-gallon green recycling con- tainers on Monday and Tuesday weekly throughout the season. Yard waste volumes exceeding the two 25-gallon container limit will not be collected. Property owners are asked to drop off additional yard waste at the Jackson Township municipal site or make arrangements with a private hauler for the removal of large volumes of yard waste. Residents are reminded not to place containers or bundled yard waste within the road right of way.
