Sponsored by the athletic departments from both schools, the breakfast is held annually to honor members of the varsity football teams, senior cheerleaders and senior band members from both schools. Frank Galicki, su- perintendent of the Dallas School District, served as master of ceremonies. Jim McGovern is the superin- tendent of the Lake-Leh- man School District. Ath- letic directors are Tom Rok- ita of Lake-Lehman and Jay Pope of Dallas. FRED ADAMS/ FOR THE DALLAS POST Jr. Mounts A team, Raiders D team are both headed for Super Bowl A TEAM Dallas 40 Kingston Township 22 The Dallas A team is headed to the Super Bowl after an impres- sive 40-22 win over Kingston Township last Sunday in the play- offs. Dallas opened the first quarter by kicking off to the Raiders. Mark Michno forced a fumble on the kickoff but the Raiders kept possession. On the next play, Lo- gan Brace recovered another fumble and ran it into the end zone. Jason Siminovich connect- ed with Eric Zawatski for the 2- point conversion and Dallas was up, 8-0, in the first minute of play. Dallas got the ball back again as the Raiders could not get a first down on fourth and two. With time running out in the first quar- ter, Siminovich recovered a Raid- er fumble to give the Mountain- eers the ball on the Kingston Township 30-yard line. Zack Macosky had two power- ful runs from scrimmage to get the ball down to the 4-yard line. Siminovich added another six points as he ran into the endzone on a quarterback keeper and Dal- las was up, 14-0. Kingston Town- ship’s Quincy Patrick broke free for a long run and got the Raiders on the scoreboard. Patrick also added two points on the conver- sion. On the next set of plays, Dallas hit Aaron Napkora with a screen pass on fourth down to get the ball to the 2-yard line. Dallas ran the same play again and Napkora got into the endzone. At the half, Dallas led, 20-8. In the third quarter, it was more of the Dallas offensive ma- chine as Zawatski hit Siminovich on a 55-yard pass to put Dallas out in front, 26-8. Patrick again broke free from the Dallas de- fenders and had a big gain to get the ball to the 4-yard line. The next play was a pass to Patrick that was broken up by Michno on the Dallas defense. Patrick found the endzone on the next play and the Raiders narrowed the score to 26-14. Late in the third quarter, Ma- cosky of Dallas broke free for a 58- yard gain to put the ball on the 20- yard line. The next play Macosky connected with Siminovich in the endzone to give Dallas anoth- er six points. Logan Brace con- verted on the 2-point conversion and Dallas was up, 34-14. Kingston Township would not give up as Patrick broke free again and scored six points. He also converted on the 20-point conversion to put the score at 34- 22. Dallas scored another touch- down on the next set of plays as Siminovich broke free. With time running out in the fourth quarter, Zawatski intercepted a KT pass to end the game with Dallas earn- ing a spot in today’s Super Bowl. The Dallas line was led by Brian Sotko, Matt Roncevich, Russ Newell, Connor Martinez, Michael Harrison and Ryan Monk. The Dallas defense was lead by Nick Luzetski, Mark Michno, Chris Behm, Aaron Nap- kora and Steve Mingy. D TEAM Kingston Township 8 West Pittston 0 The Kingston Township Raid- ers D team advanced to today’s Super Bowl with a thrilling 80 victory over the West Pittston Rams. The defenses dominated the day until the fourth quarter. KT started the winning drive with about three minutes left in the game behind the running of De- defenders.
